Kate Crawford is a leading scholar of the social and political implications of AI who serves as the Inaugural Visiting Chair of AI and Justice at the Ecole Normale Superieure. Author of “Atlas of AI” – an award-winning book on global networks underpinning AI technologies that harbour damage to the environment, inequality and undemocratic governance, Kate is a strong voice on AI ethics. She is now available to share her views on AI, machine learning and disruptive technologies via the several speaking engagements she can be booked for.

Apart from being an AI expert, Kate is the Senior Principal Researcher at Microsoft as well as a Research Professor at the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism. From the very beginning of her career, Kate has dedicated herself to the academic world and served at some of the most prestigious institutions in the world, such as the University of New South Wales and New York University, in the capacity of Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow respectively. In her seven years at NYU, Kate co-founded the AI Now Institute that researched the social implications of AI and other emerging technologies.

An advisor to policy makers from the UN, Federal Trade Commission, European Parliament, Australian Human Rights Commission and even the White House today, Kate’s position in her field is undeniable. Winner of the Beazley Design of the Year award for her project, Anatomy of an AI System, her work now is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and at V&A in London.

A regular contributor to leading publications like Harper’s Magazine, New York Times and The Atlantic, Kate’s book “Atlas of AI” was regarded as one of the best books on AI by the Financial Times in 2021.
