The Coming Wave
The Coming Wave

Mustafa Suleyman, recipient of the 2019 Silicon Valley Visionary Award, has lived up to the title, through his revolutionary work in the fields of AI and Technology. Formerly the Co-Founder and CEO of Inflection AI, Mustafa is building the world’s first AI-based personal assistant Pi, that will stand out from its competitors owing to its emotional and conversational nature. Available to speak on artificial intelligence, technology, and digital disruption, Mustafa offers a level of expertise and knowledge on AI that few others can.

Most prominent of Mustafa’s body of work is his role as Co-Founder & Head of Applied AI of DeepMind – an artificial intelligence company that strived to facilitate scientific discovery through artificial general intelligence. In ten years of DeepMind, it was able to solve some pivotal problems such as reducing the energy required to cool down Google’s data centres by 40%, using machine learning. DeepMind was acquired by Google and in 2020 Mustafa joined as the VP of AI Product Management & AI Policy at Google. Most recently, in March 2024, Mustafa was appointed as the CEO of Microsoft AI, furthering his impact on the world of artificial intelligence.

A Member of the Board of The Economist and a Venture Partner at Greylock, Mustafa’s first revolutionary venture was a non-profit telephone mental health counselling service – one that he dropped out of the University of Oxford to pursue. As a result of this venture being the largest of its kind in the UK, he was able to work as a Policy Officer on human rights with Ken Livingstone, the former Mayor of London. A pioneer in his field, Mustafa was also the Co-Founder and Partner at Reos Partners.

Senior Fellow at Belfer Centre for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School, Mustafa was awarded an MBE for his contribution to the UK’s technology sector in 2019. Having worked with the UN, Dutch Government, and WWF, Mustafa is adamant that governments solve the issue of unemployment that he sees arising with the development of AI. With his book “The Coming Wave: Technology, Power, and the Twenty-First Century’s Greatest Dilemma” set to release in 2023, Mustafa often appears on podcasts to speak more about his career and vision for AI. Now available to hire as a speaker at a wide range of events, Mustafa is poised, informative and a great choice to attend your next AI event. Enquire now!
