Paul Cheek

Paul Cheek is an AI strategist, entrepreneur, bestselling author and Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management, recognised for helping organisations build AI-driven enterprises. Paul’s entrepreneurial journey began while studying Marketing, Entrepreneurial Studies and Computer Information Systems at Bentley University, where he founded and co-founded several technology ventures, including Class Collaboration, Luvn’ Local and TAB Technologies. Throughout his early career, he held technical leadership roles across a range of start-ups, gaining experience in software engineering, product development and digital innovation. He later worked as an independent consultant for BlackRock before taking on senior engineering and technology positions, including Founder and CTO of Work Today Inc. and Vice President of Engineering and Co-Founder of Oceanworks’ traceability platform, developing technology solutions for global businesses.

Alongside his entrepreneurial career, Paul has built an outstanding reputation within MIT. After serving as Hacker in Residence and Entrepreneur in Residence, he became Executive Director of the Martin Trust Centre for MIT Entrepreneurship before being appointed Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management, where he teaches AI strategy and entrepreneurship. In 2025, he founded the AI-Driven Enterprise (AIDE) Institute, the first independent research organisation dedicated to measuring AI maturity across large organisations, and became Senior Advisor for Entrepreneurship and AI at MIT. He is the bestselling author of Disciplined Entrepreneurship: Startup Tactics and has received the Adolf F. Monosson Prize for his lasting impact on entrepreneurship education. His work has also been featured by The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes, Entrepreneur and Inc. Magazine, and he serves on the CNBC Disruptor 50 Advisory Board, the MIT Sandbox Funding Board and as a judge for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s CO—100 Awards.
