Heather Baker

Heather Baker is a keynote speaker specialising in artificial intelligence, ethical adoption, and AI literacy. She helps people and businesses make sense of fast-changing technologies, combining over 2,000 hours of AI study with an MBA from London Business School and an MA in Psychology. Heather first encountered large language models in 2022 and quickly immersed herself in learning, testing and applying them, eventually launching platforms and communities that support humans to thrive in the age of AI.

Heather’s entrepreneurial career began when she founded TopLine Comms, which grew into an award-winning international agency serving clients such as Samsung, Shell, DHL and the University of Cambridge. Over 13 years she scaled the business to seven figures before selling it to Definition in 2021. At Definition, Heather joined the board as Marketing Director and then CEO. In three years the business made a number of acquisitions and grew to £14 million turnover. She also oversaw the creation of a pioneering AI department, including the development of Definition AI, a breakthrough tech product. These experiences cemented her expertise in growth, leadership and technology innovation.

After leaving her CEO role, Heather dedicated a year to full-time AI study, exploring Python, data science, ethics, governance and regulation. Out of this journey came The AI Edit, a coaching programme designed to make professionals confident AI users in under three hours a month, and Humans in the Loop, a global community discussing the ethical and human impact of artificial intelligence. She also accepted the position of Advisory Board Chair at EXUS, supporting the company’s leadership in debt collections technology. Alongside these ventures, Heather has advised on multiple mergers and acquisitions, having personally been involved in eight transactions, both as buyer and seller.

As a keynote speaker, Heather is valued for her ability to make complex AI concepts clear, engaging and practical. Her talks explore ethical AI adoption, data privacy and building AI literacy across organisations. She draws on her background as a Certified Brain Coach and business leader who has scaled companies to seven and eight figures, while openly sharing her own fascination, excitement and concerns about AI.
