Carolyn Shepherd

Carolyn Shepherd is the founder of Emmeline AI, helping HR and L&D teams land AI projects that stick. She is a sought-after AI speaker who brings a rare and valuable blend of legal, HR, and tech expertise to the world of artificial intelligence. Carolyn is recognised as one of HR Magazine’s 2025 ‘Most Influential Thinkers’ and has spent her career translating complex ideas into practical strategies that work in the real world.

She holds a Law Degree from Queen Mary University of London and Hull University, followed by the Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Law School, equipping her with critical thinking and analytical skills that underpin her work today. Her career spans senior legal and HR roles, including ER Shared Services Director at Lloyds Employment Law Consultancy Ltd, Director of Eledecks, and Head of HR at Sylvester Keal. As an Associate Member of the CIPD and a Goldman Sachs 10KSB graduate from Saïd Business School at Oxford University, Carolyn combines legal rigour, people strategy, and business acumen.

Carolyn is the author of ‘The ChatGPT Advantage’, a practical guide to improving interactions with AI by asking better questions. She is a LinkedIn Learning AI Tutor and hosts the ‘The Five Minute AI Podcast’ through the AI Learning Lobby. She brings this human-centric approach to her work as a Senior GenAI Consultant at Eledecks, supporting senior leadership teams in navigating workforce transformation through tailored AI solutions. She is a co-founder and leader for the Work Intelligence Partnership, a newly formed network of senior women shaping people-led AI adoption. She is also an AI Steering Group Member for the Institute of Employability Professionals.
