Carolyn Shepherd is one of the UK’s leading voices on practical, people-first artificial intelligence. As the Founder of Emmeline AI, AI Adoption Architect and Senior GenAI Consultant at Eledecks, Carolyn helps organisations adopt artificial intelligence in ways that strengthen their people, culture and long-term performance. Before specialising in artificial intelligence, Carolyn built an impressive career spanning law, employment relations and human resources. She earned law degrees from Queen Mary University of London and The University of Hull, before completing the Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Law School and practising as a barrister. She later spent more than two decades in senior HR and employment law positions, including ER Shared Services Director at Lloyds Employment Law Consultancy Ltd, Head of HR at Sylvester Keal and Director of Eledecks. Today, Carolyn continues to advise senior leadership teams as Senior GenAI Consultant at Eledecks, supporting organisations through AI implementation and organisational change. She is also Co-Founder of the Work Intelligence Partnership, AI Steering Group Member for the Institute of Employability Professionals, an Associate Member of the CIPD, and a Goldman Sachs 10KSB graduate from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, bringing together expertise in people strategy, governance and innovation.

Carolyn has earned widespread recognition for making artificial intelligence accessible, practical and immediately valuable. She is the author of ‘The ChatGPT Advantage’, creator of the Jobscaping® framework and Schema Shift Analytics, helping organisations build stronger human judgement alongside AI capability. As a LinkedIn Learning AI Instructor, her courses have been completed by more than 30,000 learners, while her expertise reaches thousands more through ‘The Five Minute AI Podcast’, the AI in the Spotlight newsletter and her thought leadership across the HR and AI sectors.
