Chuck has devoted his career to defining the future impacts of evolving technology on business around the world. He began his career in 1978 when he joined Washington Star (Time Inc) as Assistant News Editor. A few years later, the opportunity arose for him to merge his passions for writing and technology, moving into an Editor (Corporate Technology) role at the publication. From there, he held various editorial positions, including Editor-in-Chief for Personal Computing Magazine, President & Editor-in-Chief for Video Digest Magazine, Editorial Director US at Medical Tribune, Associate Publisher at Information Week, and Vice President of Publishing & Advertising at IBM.

In 1998, Chuck authored his worldwide bestseller, Net Future, where he essentially predicted the arrival of the Internet of Things ahead of time. Furthermore, at the birth of the commercial internet, he was the founding publisher of Interactive Age, the first publication in history to launch in print and on the web simultaneously and to run an interactive, online advertisement. He also wrote the popular column, Connected Thinking sent to over 100,000 subscribers daily. In 2000, Chuck founded and became CEO of Net Future Institute, exploring the roles of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things and their impact on consumer behaviours. 2013 saw him become Director & Columnist for MediaPost AI & IoT Daily.
