David Linthicum

David Linthicum is a globally recognised Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing thought leader, technology futurist and keynote speaker, with more than three decades of experience shaping enterprise technology strategy. Today, he is the Founder and Lead Researcher of Linthicum Research, an independent technology research and advisory firm helping organisations navigate major developments in Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing and enterprise architecture. A recognised authority on Generative AI, Agentic AI, enterprise AI strategy, AI governance and AI infrastructure, David advises business and technology leaders on building AI systems that deliver measurable value. He is also the Creator and Host of the ‘Cloud Computing Insider’ channel and podcast, where he examines developments across AI, cloud architecture and digital transformation.

David began building his technology career long before cloud computing and modern AI became strategic priorities for global organisations. After studying at George Mason University, he held positions with Mobil Oil, HP Enterprise Services, AT&T Solutions and Ernst & Young, developing expertise across distributed computing, integration and enterprise architecture. He subsequently became CTO of SAGA Software, where his work included technology strategy and emerging enterprise integration solutions, before becoming CTO of Mercator, which was later acquired and ultimately became part of IBM. David continued his entrepreneurial career as CTO of Grand Central Communications, CEO of BRIDGEWERX and Founder, former CEO and CTO of Blue Mountain Labs, advising Global 2000 businesses and government agencies on emerging enterprise technologies.

David later became Senior Vice President at Cloud Technology Partners, providing strategic leadership across cloud strategy, architecture and implementation before the business was acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In 2018, he joined Deloitte Consulting, serving as Managing Director and Chief Cloud Strategy Officer, one of the most significant positions of his career. During six years with Deloitte, David worked across cloud technology strategy, enterprise architecture, thought leadership, service innovation and major transformation programmes, while exploring the growing relationship between cloud infrastructure and Artificial Intelligence. Beyond consulting, David has established an extensive body of technology thought leadership as the author of more than 17 books, thousands of articles and over 70 LinkedIn Learning courses, helping professionals understand cloud computing, architecture, migration, DevOps and emerging technologies.

As an Artificial Intelligence keynote speaker, David combines deep technical understanding with decades of practical experience helping enterprises adopt emerging technology.
