Ilya Feige

Ilya Feige is the Global Head of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Cerberus Technology and has cemented himself as one of the leading experts on machine learning and artificial intelligence. He is at the centre of the company which is dedicated to improving systems and generating value from data. Having graduated from McGill University with a BSc in Physics and Mathematics, Ilya then went on to study for his master’s and PhD at Harvard University in Physics. Whilst studying for his PhD, Ilya was a Summer Research Assistant for McGill University, Université de Cergy-Pontoise and CERN. He then became a French-Language Editor for the Canadian Undergraduate Physics Journal and took up his first role at Harvard University as a Teaching Fellow – lecturing to the next generation on Quantum Field Theory in 2015, and then in 2015 on the Wave Phenomena. Ilya was awarded the Goldhaber prize for the best PhD in theoretical physics from Harvard University and the Governor General’s award for the highest-ranked undergraduate student at McGill University.

In 2015 Ilya took up the position as an Associate for McKinsey & Company before then becoming an Honorary Senior Research Associate in Computer Science at UCL, a position he held until 2022. With incredible certifications to his name, having worked in several world-leading research companies, it is no wonder in 2017 Ilya became the Head of Research for Faculty and worked his way up to the Director of AI for the company. As the former Director for AI – a position he reached within just two years in the company, Ilya built, and subsequently led, a team of 25 applied artificial intelligence and machine learning practitioners. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ilya also led the data and modelling effort behind the NHS’s response to the virus, propelling him to prominence as one of the leading figures in data and artificial intelligence.

As a preeminent figure in his field, there is no wonder Ilya has numerous awards to his name including the Certificate of Distinction in Teaching from Harvard University and the Anne Molson Gold Medal and the Moyse Travelling Scholarship from McGill University to name a few.
