James Poulter is the co-founder and CEO of Vixen Labs, Europe’s leading voice agency, advising prominent clients on leveraging voice-first technology and conversational interfaces for business success. He is also a thought leader in Conversational AI strategy and an expert on integrating generative AI, such as ChatGPT and GPT-4, into different corporate environments. After graduating from the University of Westminster with a BA in Radio Production and Media Studies, he began his career as the founder of Exodus Media, a podcast company that produced shows such as the Club NME show for Koko. He returned to the University of Westminster as a Guest Lecturer, teaching students about the role of social media in journalism and the impact of social media on marketing. During the same year, he worked as a Digital Strategist at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide before joining Euro RSCG Biss Lancaster as a Digital Director and Lexis: The Recommendation Agency as a Senior Social Media Communications Consultant in 2010.
In 2012, James became Associate Director of Digital UK & EMEA at Edelman, leading pan-EMEA social media and digital business for Edelman’s technology clients. This was followed by the role of Senior Manager of Global Social Media at the LEGO Group, where he led strategic innovation projects using emerging technologies and platforms. James was elevated to Head of Emerging Platforms and Partnerships at the LEGO Group in 2017, focusing on building digital consumer engagement using Conversational AI and Extended Reality technologies to provide unique consumer experiences. James has also served as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Digital Future Council and a Strategic Advisor to The Church of England.
Driving Conversational AI forward, James is the founder of Voice2, a think tank and community comprised of the world’s leading practitioners in Conversational AI. He is also a Start-Up Advisor at Impact Central and an Advisory Board Member on Ethics & Trust at Open Voice Network.
