Krysta Svore is a globally respected expert in quantum computing and accelerated computing who brings strategic insight to the future of artificial intelligence and advanced computational systems. Krysta currently serves as Vice President of Applied Quantum Computing Research at NVIDIA, where she leads efforts to integrate quantum computing with AI-accelerated platforms. Krysta’s career is built on a strong academic foundation in mathematics and computer science. She earned her PhD from Columbia University with research focused on scalable and fault-tolerant quantum computation. Early in her career, Krysta joined Microsoft, initially contributing to machine learning and information retrieval before becoming one of the company’s earliest and most influential quantum computing leaders. Over more than a decade at Microsoft, she founded and led the Quantum Architectures and Computation Group, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s long-term quantum strategy and building the technical foundations that later became Azure Quantum. Through this work, Krysta helped democratise access to quantum hardware and software by bringing quantum systems into the cloud.

Across her career, Krysta has been widely recognised for both her technical leadership and thought leadership. She has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and holds over 30 patents spanning quantum architectures, software and error correction. Krysta has been named to multiple influential lists, including recognition as one of the most powerful female engineers in technology, and has been honoured as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Physical Society and the Washington State Academy of Sciences. She also serves on high-profile advisory bodies, including the US National Quantum Initiative Advisory Committee and the Department of Energy’s Advanced Scientific Computing Advisory Committee.
