A former Federal Minister of Pakistan for Social Protection and Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme, she is recognised for delivering large scale social impact and advancing inclusive policy. Her contributions have been honoured with the UK House of Commons Speaker’s Democracy Award, reflecting her role in strengthening democratic practice and public service. Today, her work with the World Bank on economic inclusion further reinforces her influence in shaping global development agendas.

Marvi’s early career reflects a strong international and academic foundation. Raised across Karachi, Paris and Kuwait, she developed a global perspective from an early age before studying International Relations at the London School of Economics. She later completed an Executive Master’s in Advanced Global Studies at SciencesPo. Her initial professional experience included internships with DAWN and the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs, followed by a role at Citibank, where she built expertise in management and technology. She then moved into leadership at Trakker, becoming Pakistan’s youngest woman CEO of a multinational and pioneering innovations such as the country’s first SMS server and vehicle tracking technology.

Transitioning into public service, Marvi served two terms as a parliamentarian in Pakistan’s National Assembly, where she authored the Acid and Burns Crime Legislation, a landmark policy intervention addressing violence against women. She also founded the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services, strengthening institutional governance. As Chairperson and Federal Minister of the Benazir Income Support Programme, she led one of the world’s largest social protection initiatives, supporting millions of families and overseeing a substantial national budget. Her global profile expanded through advisory roles with the World Bank Gender Advisory Council and her leadership as Founder, President and CEO of LAWEP International Corporation, a pioneering legislative Generative AI organisation. She has also spoken at major international forums including Davos and COP28.
