Nick Bostrom is a Professor in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Oxford and is the most-cited professional philosopher under the age of 50 in the world today. As the Founding Director of Future of Humanity Institute, he tends to questions regarding AI safety, biosecurity, macrostrategy, AI policy, and ethics of digital minds, amongst others. With a glowing academic record, he has studied at some of the best institutions in the world, including London School of Economics, King’s College, University of Stockholm and the University of Gothenburg. He earned degrees in Philosophy, Mathematics, Mathematical logic, AI, and Computational Neuroscience, which facilitated his position as a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at Yale University. He has also been a University Fellow at James Martin Institute for Science and Civilisation, Governing Board Fellow at St Cross College, and Director of Programme on the Impacts of Future Technology at Oxford Martin School.

Revered for his work, Nick was included on Prospect’s World Thinkers list, where he was the youngest of the top 15. He was also part of Foreign Policy’s Top 100 Global Thinkers list twice.
