Prof. Dr. Feiyu Xu

Prof. Dr. Feiyu Xu is one of the most influential voices in artificial intelligence today, an award-winning researcher, international AI leader, and dynamic keynote speaker helping organisations navigate the AI revolution. As Professor of Industry AI at the German University of Digital Science and CEO of Amber Iris AI Consulting, she combines cutting-edge academic expertise with decades of industry leadership to deliver insights that shape the future of business, innovation, and digital transformation.

Dr. Xu began her AI journey at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), where she spent nearly two decades leading research in natural language processing and text analytics. She also co-founded Yocoy Technologies, a DFKI spin-off, and earned her PhD and habilitation in computational linguistics from Saarland University—establishing herself early on as a global authority in applied AI.

Her career advanced into executive leadership at major global tech companies. At Lenovo, she served as VP and Head of the AI Lab, spearheading the company’s AI strategy across smart devices and data infrastructure. Later, as Senior Vice President and Global Head of AI at SAP, she led the intelligent transformation of one of the world’s largest enterprise software companies—defining and operationalising a company-wide AI vision across R&D, product, marketing, HR, and sales.

Beyond her corporate impact, Dr. Xu is deeply engaged in strategic governance and innovation. She serves on multiple supervisory and advisory boards, including at Airbus Group, ZF Group, Siemens Energy, Zühlke, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and supports global advisory initiatives at A.T. Kearney, GCORE, and others. She also co-founded Nyonic, a generative AI start-up, and was named one of the “Top 23 Women in AI” in Germany by Manager Magazin, and one of Fokus Magazin’s “Women of the Year” for her impact on the economy.
