Professor Rose Luckin is one of the world’s leading authorities on artificial intelligence in education. For more than three decades, she has explored how technology can enhance learning, teaching and human intelligence. Her work bridges research, policy and practice, and she has become a trusted voice to governments, global organisations and industry leaders seeking to understand the ethical and practical use of AI in education. Rose combines academic rigour with clear communication, helping audiences grasp complex ideas with confidence and curiosity.

Rose is Professor Emerita at University College London and Founder and CEO of Educate Ventures Research, a company dedicated to helping schools and businesses harness AI ethically and effectively. Before joining UCL, she was Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Sussex, where she co-founded the Human Centred Technology Research Group. Her early academic background includes a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in AI and Computer Science and a PhD in Cognitive and Computing Sciences, both from the University of Sussex. Throughout her career, she has also advised institutions such as Cambridge University Press and Assessment, the UK Department for Education Science Advisory Council, and international education agencies shaping the future of learning technology.

Her contributions have earned her major recognition worldwide. Rose received the Bett Outstanding Achievement Award in 2025, was named a Leading Woman in AI EDU at the ASU-GSV AIR Show in 2024, and became the first person outside North America to win the ISTE Impact Award in 2023. Earlier in her career, she was awarded the International Francqui Chair and listed among the 20 most influential people in education and the 50 most influential women in UK tech. A prolific author, she has written extensively in journals, conferences and books, including the acclaimed ‘Machine Learning and Human Intelligence’ and ‘AI for Schoolteachers’, both of which make artificial intelligence accessible and relevant to educators around the world.

Rose is also a highly sought-after keynote speaker who delivers compelling talks on the future of AI, ethics and education. She has appeared on BBC Radio 4, ITV News and CNBC, and writes regularly for the Times Educational Supplement, the Financial Times and the Guardian. Her engaging speaking style blends deep academic insight with practical advice, inspiring audiences to embrace AI with humanity, critical thinking and confidence. Through every talk, Rose encourages organisations to see AI not as a replacement for human intelligence, but as a powerful partner in learning and innovation.
