Sue Turner OBE is an artificial intelligence keynote speaker trusted by boards, senior leaders and policy makers navigating the realities of AI adoption. She is known for her ability to translate complex technology into clear, strategic decisions, grounded in governance, ethics and commercial value. Sue operates at the intersection of leadership, law and applied AI, bringing credibility to conversations where confidence and accountability matter most.

Sue’s career began with senior leadership roles in business and policy, including becoming the youngest Regional Director of the Confederation of British Industry in the South West. She went on to hold executive positions such as Director of Communications at The Bristol Port Company and Chief Executive Officer of Quartet Community Foundation, where she led transformational growth. Under her leadership, Quartet’s endowment increased from £23 million to over £50 million, doubling annual grant-making to £5 million and creating long-term social impact. Alongside executive roles, Sue has built an extensive board portfolio, including Chair of North Somerset Environment Company Ltd and Non-Executive Director at Cornish Mutual.

Sue’s transition into artificial intelligence was driven by both strategic foresight and technical capability. She completed an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with distinction, coding in Python and building machine learning models focused on real-world organisational challenges. In 2020, she founded AI Governance Limited, a consultancy dedicated to helping organisations adopt AI responsibly. Her Responsible AI framework and Eight Stages of Good AI Governance are now used by multinational organisations seeking to balance innovation, regulation and trust. Sue is also part of a pioneering global cohort accredited in the Independent Audit of AI Systems, reinforcing her authority in AI assurance and risk.

In recognition of her leadership and impact, Sue was awarded an OBE for Services to Social Justice. She is ranked among the world’s Top 100 Women in AI Ethics, is a founder member of the United Nations AI Skills Coalition, and holds the role of Professor in Practice for AI and Technologies at the University of Bristol Business School. As a speaker, Sue delivers board-level keynotes, C-suite workshops and strategic sessions that address AI as a business-critical issue.
