Tim Flagg is a prominent AI speaker and the co-founder and CEO of UKAI, the UK’s only trade association dedicated to advancing the artificial intelligence industry. With close to three decades of experience spanning business, marketing and emerging technology, Tim is trusted by organisations to demystify AI and clarify its practical implications. Tim’s career began in brand and media strategy, managing the BBC’s Natural History portfolio before progressing to NBCUniversal as Director of Marketing EMEA, where he played a key role in launching and scaling television channel brands across international markets. He later moved into the telecommunications sector with Hutchinson Whampoa, leading advertising for the INQ smartphone across multiple global territories. As digital transformation accelerated, Tim held senior leadership roles, including EU Marketing Lead at Zipcar, where he built performance-driven digital teams, and Managing Director at the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing with AVADO, through which he founded The Academy of Digital Business Leaders, supporting organisations in developing digital capability, before transitioning into AI-led ventures, including EntityX, where he applied machine learning to targeted marketing, and Intelliquence, focused on widening access to AI tools. His work culminated in the co-founding of UKAI, an organisation dedicated to championing ethical AI leadership and global collaboration.

Beyond his executive roles, Tim has built a strong reputation as a thought leader in artificial intelligence. He has served as Non-Executive Director of Greater Than, an AI-driven business focused on road safety and emissions reduction, and has authored a number of influential reports exploring the future of AI in Britain. He is currently working on his forthcoming book, ‘British AI’, and hosts ‘The Business of AI’ podcast for UKAI, alongside previously leading podcast series for the Institute of Directors and Clickz.
