Vivek Wadhwa is an author, academic and entrepreneur, who is currently a Distinguished Fellow at Harvard Law School, specialising in the areas of AI, robots, research, and the future of work. Vivek completed his BA in Computing Studies from Canberra University and MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business. Early on in his career, he served as the Vice President of Information Services at CS First Boston. He was then the CTO of Seer Technologies, and Founder and CEO of Relativity Technologies. Vivek returned to academia in 2007, when he joined as a Senior Research Associate at Harvard Law School. He has since worked in vital roles at prestigious institutions such as Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley, Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Emory University, Vice President of Academics, and Research & Innovation at Singularity University.
In the last decade, Vivek has been a Fellow at Stanford University, Director of Research at Duke University, and Distinguished Fellow & Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University – where he taught classes on exponential technologies, technology convergence, and industry disruption. Having been a columnist for The Washington Post, Vivek is the bestselling author of five books, including “From Incremental to Exponential”, “Your Happiness Was Hacked”, and “The Driver in the Driverless Car” amongst others. Having delivered several TEDx talks, including “Engineering Education and Innovation”, he is a seasoned speaker whose opinion is considered highly valuable.
Financial Times referred to Vivek as one of the “ten men worth emulating”, Silicon Valley Forum honoured him with a Visionary Award, Foreign Policy included him in the “Top 100 Global Thinkers” list in 2012, and he was named an “Outstanding American by Choice” by the U.S. Government.
