Waseem’s journey began with a BA in Journalism at the University of Lincoln, during which he was hired by BBC World as the first television researcher for the BBC’s flagship technology programme Click. His early promise translated into a long broadcasting career from 2008 to 2021, during which he reported and presented across major BBC platforms. His roles included producing and presenting the BBC One 8 pm news summary, working as a video journalist, and covering major international events. He was also named among the Winter Broadcast Magazine’s “Hot 30 Under 30” talents, and he researched, wrote and directed the acclaimed Tech East project—further solidifying his reputation as a technology storyteller.
From 2021 onwards, Waseem expanded into professional acting, securing roles with Warner Bros Television, Netflix and BBC Studios. His screen credits include Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler, The Diplomat, Beyond Belief: Talking to the Dead, There is Always Hope and a 2025 Doctor Who spin-off, The War Between the Land and the Sea. In 2025, Waseem made his debut on the world’s longest-running television soap, Emmedale. Alongside his acting work, he continues to anchor major technology content, presenting and producing The futureTECH Show, fronting live broadcasts for global brands such as DJI and TikTok Shop, and serving as a freelance presenter for major technology companies, including Xiaomi.
Waseem is also a committed advocate for young victims of crime, serving as an ambassador for the British charity Embrace Child Victims of Crime.
